The client’s needs & goals
The clients contacted us after a referral from an acquaintance who had a bathroom renovation completed previously. The clients are professionals who were making a move from their primary home in the city to their cottage in beautiful Tiny Beaches. The cottage was in need of updating and they were interested in making the most of their space.
They wanted a full refresh of the main floor with a focus on the custom kitchen as the client is a chef, with specific wants and needs.
Our solutions
Due to a lack of space, it was determined that a full gut and brand-new floor plan would be ideal to achieve their goals. An addition was planned and designed that allowed a complete redesign of their kitchen and dining spaces, with the staircase totally relocated. This gave us a blank slate to create the space they had in mind with the functionality they required.
We did a full gut of the existing kitchen, living room, bathroom and master bedroom. The backyard bump out was the full length of the home adding valuable square footage and a completely new layout. We also completed a custom fireplace, built-ins, custom staircases, flooring, drywall, trim and doors as well as all exterior work required (siding, decking, hot tub installation, windows etc), custom cabinetry for kitchen and bathrooms as well as all finishing and tile work.
The results
The clients now have a very functional home with great flow throughout the main areas to a gorgeous outdoor patio and entertainment area. The kitchen is outfitted to meet the needs of a professional chef while keeping aesthetics and entertaining top of mind.
The clients are thrilled with their home and have become good friends with Simon, Shawna and our team. They love entertaining in their new space.
